Hi Douglas. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Because of the bad reputation of the favelas and because it’s simply not best area to walk around on your own as a tourist there are special guided tours. I went there with a local guide and felt very safe. Hope you can enjoy Brazil as much as I did. Cheers!
