With Ryanair to Girona
As I am waiting at Eindhoven Airport to catch a flight to Girona Barcelona I realize that I have done this over fifty times. I mean, I have been waiting at this airport many many times to catch the same flight; to reach my previous hometown, which used to be a weekly activity on my agenda. Today I am flying back, again, but for a different reason. I am invited to attend the ExpoNuvis fair in Calella and walk their catwalk. How about that!
Watch the fees!
Irish low cost carrier Ryanair operates daily from Eindhoven to Girona and it is a cheap way to get to the Costa Brava via Girona. I always have to be careful when I book a Ryanair ticket though, because this airline is notorious for their secret fees. If you do not check in online before getting to the airport you will have to pay a fee. If you bring a bag to check-in while you have not checked the ‘on board luggage’ box during the booking process, you will have to pay a extra fee. Do not think your flight will be relax, because the flight attendants will offer you anything they can during the entire flight. Which is not a nice gesture, but pure promotion. Anyway, it is cheap. After all, it is like a quick bus ride. You enter the airplane, choose a seat, after 1,5 hour you land and within 10 minutes you will find yourself breathing the fresh air of your destination. So I do recommend you to use the cheap Ryanair flights whenever you are traveling in Europe.
When I lived in Calella I booked a lot of Ryanair flights to be able to visit the Netherlands without having to dig deeply into my wallet.
I do not live in Calella anymore, but today I will return for a visit. So it will be kinda returning back home.
About Renate Rigters
Ever since I left my home country I felt at home at any other place I went to. I enjoy getting to know more cultures by talking to strangers and hearing their philosophy about life. Speaking with gestures when you can not find a shared language, finding places only the locals go to and learn about their customs and values. Hanging out with local people makes me happy. The experience of every new place is a step out of your comfort zone where I like to wander around until it feels like a second home.
