National Geographic Traveler Cafe
Always wanted to meet the people behind the National Geographic magazine? The ones that have the dream jobs we all wish we had? National Geographic created a opportunity in Amsterdam called the Traveler Cafe, where you get inspired by travel stories and people.
The second Traveler Cafe
The Traveler Cafe is being organized to offer people a chance to meet the photographers, writers and the editorial office from National Geographic – the biggest travel magazine from The Netherlands!
November 6, 2014 will be the second edition of the National Geographic Traveler Cafe. A fun and inspiring evening with interesting presentations.
Sacha de Boer and Raymond Rutting tell about their journey to Guatemala. In the land of the Mayas they went through a photographic battle! The idea was that two top photographers, each with their own creative style, were sent to the same destination. Together there work gives an amazing impression about this new hotspot in Latin America. During their presentation they want to show you how it was to work with the ‘competitor’ and how they managed to do it.
Afterwards, Jasper Doest, who is one of the best nature photographers of the Netherlands at the moment, shares his experiences on the Rottumeroog (an uninhabited island in the Wadden Sea). He created a unique story with his photos about the Rotturmeroog for the National Geographic Magazine, but also traveled to Mexico (spotting whales) and Zimbabwe (safari) for Traveler.
At the end of the evening a fun travel quiz, which will be hosted by Daphne Bunskoek, which ends the night. Your chance to show how much you know about the world and win a great price!
Date: Thursday November 6, 2014
Time: 17:30 – 21:00
Location: Pllek, TT Neveritaweg 59, 1033 WB Amsterdam

About Renate Rigters
Ever since I left my home country I felt at home at any other place I went to. I enjoy getting to know more cultures by talking to strangers and hearing their philosophy about life. Speaking with gestures when you can not find a shared language, finding places only the locals go to and learn about their customs and values. Hanging out with local people makes me happy. The experience of every new place is a step out of your comfort zone where I like to wander around until it feels like a second home.
