Lost & found: a giant tooth!
Nope, it’s not a goatee – I found a tooth. A rather big one. I’m wondering from where it originates…
Who do you belong to?
Could anyone tell me? I’m not sure whether it’s from a shark, a crocodile or perhaps even from a Yeti. However I am quite sure that it’s from a creature that loves a snack or two seeing the size of it. It’s about 10 cm big and it has a dark brown color. The edges are crenelated and sharp. It appears to be quite old – I’m guessing about 2,6 million years – but it has absolutely no smell at all.
It was found by my father somewhere in Minnesota, land of 10.000 lakes. I would love to learn about the very first owner of this tooth that once used this tool for his dinner, so I’d love to hear from you!
And probably one of the big questions is: are you still out there? Or did evolution extinct you?
About Renate Rigters
Ever since I left my home country I felt at home at any other place I went to. I enjoy getting to know more cultures by talking to strangers and hearing their philosophy about life. Speaking with gestures when you can not find a shared language, finding places only the locals go to and learn about their customs and values. Hanging out with local people makes me happy. The experience of every new place is a step out of your comfort zone where I like to wander around until it feels like a second home.
