Hotspot: Mirante de Pipa
One of the main goals during the holidays is getting the perfect sunset picture.
I found just THE place in Pipa, Brazil!
On a particular afternoon in Pipa I met some French people during some adventurous water sports activities. Afterwards we decided to go all together to a bar for some drinks, but first we wanted to see the sunset. One of the French said he knew just the place…
He took us with his Jurassic Park 4×4 vehicle to downtown Pipa where we first had to drive up hill to get to the place the locals call “El Mirante de Pipa”. We walked up to the lounge area and got comfortable, while waiting for the sun to show us her last amazing colors of the day.
Ready for the photo of my amazing sunset in Pipa?
Here it comes!
It’s beautiful right?! Everyone loves a pretty sunset photo, I’m sure about that.
So actually the best thing of the Mirante de Pipa is that it ain’t just a nice place where you can just watch the sun go down, no, good news: it is also a bar. Yay! If you’d like to meet some people or perhaps you are in Pipa with some friends and would like to go for a drink together at a great location then this is where you should go to. Mirante de Pipa is actually the name of the pousada (located right next to it), but the bar’s official name is Mirante Sunset Pipa. However, ask anyone for de Mirante and they’ll all lead you to the same place.

Caipirinhas with French tourists in El Mirante de Pipa after sunset (and yes, I know we all look like a bunch of vampires with our camera-red eyes…)
About Renate Rigters
Ever since I left my home country I felt at home at any other place I went to. I enjoy getting to know more cultures by talking to strangers and hearing their philosophy about life. Speaking with gestures when you can not find a shared language, finding places only the locals go to and learn about their customs and values. Hanging out with local people makes me happy. The experience of every new place is a step out of your comfort zone where I like to wander around until it feels like a second home.
