Crabs are cool. Meet Bubba
It has been a tough day for me… The sun was shining really brightly so I had to put sunscreen every half an hour, the heat was very high which obligated me to jump of a boat into the ocean to keep a good body temperature, and then there were these dolphins who just kept on spoiling my sea view by jumping through the waves. How annoying! Luckily I met Mr. Crab today who I like to call Bubba and Bubba turned it all into one big positive thing after all!
Say hello to my little friend!
So, I was chilling out on the boat and all out of a sudden Bubba appeared! He was walking towards me in this very cute way, you know, side ways. How I fell in love immediately! Bubba might have been a bit tired, because he kept on walking towards the shade of my shorts to pop-in, or let’s say to close his eyes and relax.
purple and purple
After he had – what seemed to be – a short nap, he popped out his eyes again and started exploring my backpack. It might have been the colors which appealed to him now.
in search of shade
After a while Bubba got a bit bored with my backpack and he decided to go for my sunglasses. It might have been the shade he was looking for again, or maybe his own reflection. I don’t know. I do know he loved my Ray-Bans!
Crabbies
Crabs are funny creatures. They walk around with their big and heavy claws and once someone shows up they normally quickly disappear into the sand or pull out their claws to get ready for an attack. There are crabs with many different colors, but some can be for example entirely white. If you go to the beaches of Brazil you can find many crabs. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful colors of many different kinds of crabs and their funny movements. Of course Bubba is now back at his oceanic home and I’m sure he waved with his claw when I left the beach.
About Renate Rigters
Ever since I left my home country I felt at home at any other place I went to. I enjoy getting to know more cultures by talking to strangers and hearing their philosophy about life. Speaking with gestures when you can not find a shared language, finding places only the locals go to and learn about their customs and values. Hanging out with local people makes me happy. The experience of every new place is a step out of your comfort zone where I like to wander around until it feels like a second home.
