4 easy tips to make snowboarding more fun
Snowboarding is happiness
Lately I’ve been on the slopes almost every day, at least for an hour a day since I also have to do things during the day away from the slopes for my work. I’ve learned a lot over the last couple of months and I became a way better snowboarder. That’s why I want to share some snowboarding tips with you so that we can all improve our skills and rock those mountains! Snowboarding is happiness!
Tip 1.
Bend your knees more and keep your back straight.
Tip 2.
Lend on your front leg. Think of your front leg as a joystick and point it to where you want to go.
Tip 3.
Really hang into those heels or toes.
Tip 4.
Control your speed.
When you want to break simply press the heel-side edge into the snow and lift your toes slightly. Keep your legs bent and stay low to maintain balance. The same goes for stopping when you’re facing uphill, but then you press your toe-side edge into the snow and lift your heels a bit. So, it’s not about slamming against the ground, but you can actually spray some powder snow over your friends while breaking with this method 🙂
First snowboarding experience
I started snowboarding in 2007 and I’ve always had just a few days to practice my skills until recently. My first snowboarding experience was in Les Deux Alpes in France and I remember I hated the button lift or the drag lift since I wasn’t ready to balance my board by then. I just kept falling! Now, a few years later, I’ve learned a lot. Especially over the last few months in the Italian Alps. I love it.
Snowboarding every day, keeps the stress away!”
Everyone remembers their first day on the snowboard. It was either rewarding or frustrating. Feel like sharing your experience? Drop a comment below!

About Renate Rigters
Ever since I left my home country I felt at home at any other place I went to. I enjoy getting to know more cultures by talking to strangers and hearing their philosophy about life. Speaking with gestures when you can not find a shared language, finding places only the locals go to and learn about their customs and values. Hanging out with local people makes me happy. The experience of every new place is a step out of your comfort zone where I like to wander around until it feels like a second home.

Nice. Nog 1 tip, chill ontzettend hard op je board van links naar rechts en terug, dan maak je wijde bochten en laat je alleen een heel dun streepje achter (carven). Je snelheid is dan niet te hoog en je kunt dan ook rustig om je heen kijken
Goede tip Luca! Thanks! 🙂
