The world is becoming smaller and we need to communicate with foreigners. To be able to do that we have to learn more languages. Fortunately learning a language can be done in several ways. By far the best way is to visit the country of the language you want to learn. Do a course at a local language school, like Habla Ya Spanish School in Panama. For those who are interested in spending time abroad while learning the local customs and the language this is perfect!

3. Mondly
Mondly has 33 languages at the moment that you can learn. You can do a free tutorial and after that you have to pay to be able to continue. You pay only once for a premium account and you’ll get a lifetime access to all the languages on Mondly. It has lessons per theme, such as food and drinks, family and even pets. You can also do a daily lesson to see how good you’ve become in memorizing the words. A great thing about Mondly is that is has an interactive way of teaching many kinds of languages.

2. Duolingo
A very trendy language app used all over the world. It’s for free and that makes it easy to start straight away. You have to unlock the next lesson by finishing the previous one. DuoLingo looks simple, but it provides a lot of grammar details once you hover over the words used during the lessons. It’s a crowd sourced app and its results are peer-reviewed.

1. Babbel
Probably the most detailed and interactive language app. With a monthly payment you can access the whole language course, but the first lesson is always for free. Babbel let’s you have real-life dialogues and helps you to speak the language more confidently. Babbel has a focus on actually being able to use the language rather than just drilling words or grammar.

Mondly is no longer a pay once app.It’s now monthly, so is lost most of its charm.
Hey Pat, where did you get that information from? I can still enter the app unlimited and I can’t find anything about a monthly fee for new users. I believe you’re misinformed. Greets, Renate
