I have been enjoying the homes of the Airbnb website for a couple of years now. The first time I tried it I ended up spending time with an artistic Argentinean brother and sister who made me feel at home in their beautiful wooden Airbnb house. This time I found a place to stay through Airbnb again and my boyfriend and I made it our home away in Playa del Carmen. ...read more!
I love to travel and especially to go to those exotic places where the weather is warm, the beaches are beautiful and the people live happily. I’ve always wanted to go to Fuerteventura, but never had the chance! Until Planet Surf Camp invited me to join them for a week, and of course I didn’t have to think very long about accepting the invite! I started searching for a flight and found one that takes 4,5 hours from Weeze Airport in Germany. Bingo! Let’s do this, Fuerteventura here I come! ...read more!
It’s hard for a woman to decide on what to bring today when leaving the house, since we don’t always know what we’ll need. That’s why some of us like to carry a bigger bag and others a smaller one. So what happens when you’re out traveling? Do we look at it the same way or do we know what we carry with us?
In my travel-case there are a couple of things I know I’ll always need in my bag, like my mobile phone, my passport, my camera, my book, my scarf, my sweater, a tiny umbrella, a bottle of water and my wallet. But hey, where can I fit all these things into while traveling without needing to carry a day-pack every time? Travelon gave me the solution.
A week ago I went to the beach in the Netherlands – yes, we do have a beach here too! The name of the beach is Scheveningen (part of The Hague) and at the end of summer it is a great place to visit if you like rollerskating on the boulevard. There are also some great dining options for afterwards and in particularly there’s one which I find quite special. After the racing with my skates on the paths near the beach I went to the Rodizio restaurant; A Brazilian Grill. And you know I adore Brazil and I love meat! ...read more!

Don’t you just feel like a young kid waiting to unwrap his Christmas presents to find out what’s inside when you see there’s a postcard laying on your doormat waiting for you to be discovered? Without doubt it beats finding bills, tax notifications and especially the postal advertisement from your local shop.
I like sending cards while I am abroad, but especially love receiving a card from a friend abroad while I am at home. However, the sending part is always a but tricky for the person having to sort it out in the other country – Where do they sell the stamps? How long do I have to stand in line at the local post office? Where can I even buy a card nowadays? ...read more!
An orange wall with natural bricks surrounding the entrance invite me to have a look at this place. “Rest-Tapas-Bar El Carajo” is written on the wall I find when I spontaneously decide to enter the place and to have a look. A lovely waiter who also appears to be the chef since he just opened his brand new restaurant, an open kitchen where I can see how my food is going to be prepared, cozy colors painted on the walls and a lot of dining space invite me to have a seat. ...read more!
The streets of Antigua with volcán de Agua stratovolcano in the background
I do not know what has gotten into me, but lately I have been completely obsessed with climbing any nearby active volcano until I reach its hottest crater. It is not that I woke up one day with this dream of being a volcano hiker, but since there are so many active ones in my current surroundings I could not just let them be and take a picture of it from the average safer distance.
I want to touch the warm petrified lava. ...read more!
