5 of the best party towns in Asia

Everyone loves a party, but what happens when the urge strikes you and you’re halfway around the world? Today we’re going to investigate five of the best party towns in Asia.

The best party towns in Asia

1. Phuket – Thailand

While the name of this town sounds like something you might say after a bad day at work, the reality is that it’s one of the top party spots in the whole of Asia.

The area possesses a local beach, with tourists often lining it as they make the most of the countless bars offering cheap booze along the narrow strip.

A slight walk inland shows much of the same, with flashing neon lights and loud rock music drawing already-tipsy travelers further into its talons.

Some people say Phuket is a little sleazy, but others are bowled over by it. The only way to find out which camp you fall into is by testing the waters yourself.

2. Ho Chi Minh – Vietnam

This town in Vietnam is named after the nation’s founder, but it is now known more for its fantastic party atmosphere than its revolutionary communist namesake.

By day the town doesn’t really stand out for anything particularly exciting, but when the sun goes down the booze starts flowing.

Locals and tourists alike will be seen lining the streets, stumbling from one bar to another as the night’s merriment continues to crank up. There are plenty of hot spots available, with the likes of Vascos and Go2 standing out as some of the most popular.

3. Haad Rin – Thailand

While Haad Rin isn’t a world-renowned name (although you’ll know it if you’re a backpacker). The Full Moon Party is hosted here every year and is far more recognizable among tourists.

The event is widely regarded as one of the messiest, but most fun, parties for any traveler worth their passport, with people usually drinking booze out of buckets and generally going nuts.

The celebration itself takes place on the town’s local beach, with barely room to move at times owing to the vast numbers of people enjoying themselves. The atmosphere is always friendly and it is certainly one well worth checking out.

4. Boracay – Philippines

Who doesn’t love a beach party? The Philippines plays host to a bevy of amazing spots for a party, but Boracay may well be the best, purely because of its locale.

A 4km strip of beach – lined most of the way with bars and incredibly cheap beer – serves as the venue for a seemingly never-ending hootenanny.

Bright lights, pretty colours and lots of drunken shenanigans are the call of the day here, with people able to spend the night on the beach before waking up to the crisp sea air.

5. Vang Vieng – Laos

Laos might not be a nation you intrinsically link with partying, but the town of Vang Vieng makes an exception to that rule.

The area is for all intents and purposes just one massive pub crawl, with people moving from one bar to the next as they get jolly.

The key difference to the regular crawl is you move between taverns on an inflated tube down a river. Naturally, a few people go for a swim in the water after one too many pints.

These are five of the best party towns in Asia, so why not head over to one today and check them out for yourself?
